“terminally ill people should be allowed to choose to die if they feel it is the best decision for them” and “euthanasia can easily become eugenics” and “we should provide support for depressed and suicidal people” are statements that can come into conflict but should all be respected
also “offering euthanasia to people who can’t afford actual treatment is murder”
(via nothorses)
How do I say this as inoffensively as possible..?
It is absolutely true Kendrick should not have used a slur for indigenous ppl on his record. Honestly we need to get better at recognizing that word and others as slurs.
At the same time, it’s never not given me a pause it seems like the only time these types of things come up, it’s like hours after black folks get excited for a musical project. Lizzo (before we knew she was weird), Megan, Beyoncé.. hell even as a black trans person Kendrick the last time was odd. The only time I’ve ever seen it handled well is like with Glo I think that’s because it was black disabled ppl calling it outs
Idk, I’m not against ppl calling this shit out but the way non black ppl do it never sits right with me.
I can’t say this on my other social media so I’ll say it here:
I am “retiring” my mentors name and number this month and giving her a special helmet to go with it…hand painted as I do with my own. I’ve cried multiple times over it so i thought I got over it.
..But,
I was putting the finishing touches on it which included her active years skating (2014-2024) and I just.. started bawling.
It is so SO fucking unfair how many Black skaters are pushed out this sport before their time by jealous white skaters. It HURTS to be privileged enough to “retire” a skater’s name and number who had so much left to give to this sport and these players.. and know they probably will never get to because of racism. And it hurts knowing the skater who did it will get to retire properly, when she’s ready, after tormenting me and my mentor and others because our former team doesn’t give a shit about how black skaters are treated.
Each step getting ready for this game, knowing she is here but that she should be playing with me wreaks me. Especially watching champs and seeing the same thing happen on the global level in micro aggressive ways.
Black skaters deserve so much more and I hate the only way we often get it is through each other.
And the worst part is… it is damn good helmet.
And it will only be ever worn once.

I hate speaking about bisexual issues cause even people who are “friends” will eventually get tired of you being loud about it.
Like why is it you know I research bi history, and then when I talk about how it’s gross ppl always want bisexuals to preform queerness for them to be seen as queer you are telling me “not everyone is trying to force you to be gay or straight. Most bisexuals are even out so” As if that’s not one of the studies I had previously talked about and how it is known that often bisexuals are rejected in queer spaces even in the context of abuse?
We are staying and we will rebuild our land. This is a promise

The transmasc experience is growing up as a little girl, constantly being told to sit down and shut up, that we’re just overly dramatic and hysterical. Then when we transition we get told to sit down and shut up, that we’re overly dramatic and hysterical, and not actually oppressed and in fact are privileged! Nothing has fucking changed, in fact it’s even worse now than it’s ever been!
Y'all I know that when so-called AI generates ridiculous results it’s hilarious and I find it as funny as the next guy but I NEED y'all to remember that every single time an AI answer is generated it uses 5x as much energy as a conventional websearch and burns through 10 ml of water. FOR EVERY ANSWER. Each big llm is equal to 300,000 kiligrams of carbon dioxide emissions.
LLMs are killing the environment, and when we generate answers for the lolz we’re still contributing to it.
Stop using it. Stop using it for a.n.y.t.h.i.n.g. We need to kill it.

can we talk about how this is even more annoying when websites start forcing AI on us even though we didn’t FUCKING ASK (@ meta)
like, you stole my art. you stole my writing. and now you’re making me fuck up the environment even though i DIDN’T FUCKING ASK
